Laboratory 101: Successful Lab Set-up
Lesson 5: Selection and Training of Lab Personnel: Your laboratory's most valuable asset is not the instrumentation you have selected, but rather, the personnel who will staff the lab. You can equip your lab with the most expensive, state-of-the-art instruments, but if the people who perform the testing are incompetent and ill-trained, your lab venture is headed for failure. Directors of successful labs invariably point to key personnel as the reason for their success. This success begins with selecting the right people for the tasks and by providing training so that they can perform the tasks properly.
